At Stoic Construction, we are committed to building strong, lasting relationships with Indigenous communities across Canada. Our goal is to work together in a way that respects local cultures, promotes economic growth, and creates long-term benefits for all involved.
Our Partners
Local Inclusion Program
Stoic Construction has developed a learning program for local indigenous community members that wish to gain a new skill or begin their journey into the construction industry.
This program is based on KPI's ( Key Performance Indicators ) . Our KPI evaluation tool is used to grade the individual from day one until project or role completion. We also consider what specific skill the individual wants to learn or improve so that we can delegate tasks accordingly.
The individual will leave with a project or role certificate that can be used to gain further employment.
Our Approach
We recognize the importance of meaningful collaboration and take deliberate steps to ensure our work positively impacts Indigenous communities. Our approach includes:
- Cultural Understanding & Respect: We engage in ongoing learning and cultural awareness initiatives to ensure our team understands and respects Indigenous traditions, histories, and perspectives. This fosters open and constructive relationships built on trust and mutual respect.
- Supporting Indigenous Businesses: We actively seek partnerships with Indigenous-owned businesses and suppliers, integrating them into our projects and procurement processes. By doing so, we contribute to the economic empowerment of Indigenous entrepreneurs.
- Community Engagement & Consultation: We believe in working closely with Indigenous leaders and community members from the outset of every project. Their insights and guidance help shape our approach, ensuring projects align with the needs and values of the communities we serve.
- Hiring Locally: We prioritize employment opportunities for Indigenous individuals, helping to create meaningful career paths within the construction industry. Through skills training and mentorship, we support workforce development that extends beyond any single project.
- Ongoing Community Support: Our commitment doesn’t end when construction is complete. We follow up with Indigenous communities after project completion to assess the impact of our work, address any concerns, and explore additional ways to provide support and collaboration.
